Garland Chamber visits, and prominent Trusted World sponsor shares its first annual donation impact.

The Chief Marketing Officer for the Credit Union of Texas, Eddie Army, says investing in Trusted World is a great fit for his organization, People are excited about it and want to be able to give back. And making it easy to do good in the community is our goal.”

Aside from the initial 5-year, 1.5 million dollar donation in early 2022, CUTX put clothing donation bins in all its NTX branches, demonstrating its commitment to the community, customers, and employees.

That commitment includes funding three routes at 100 thousand dollars annually for five years. Army says the return on its donations nearly tripled in the first year. “Donating 300 thousand dollars or so, and being able to make an impact of more than 1.1 million dollars and impacting over 9 thousand lives is a pretty incredible thing. Right? And it’s having that data that helps us show the real impact we’re able to make. That’s the powerful thing. It’s one thing to write a check and hope something great’s going to happen with it. It’s a whole other thing to be able to track and understand exactly the impact we’re making.” Army has since joined the Trusted World Board of Directors.

                                                                              The volunteer experience.

Several dozen women from the Garland Chamber of Commerce recently toured and volunteered for the first time at Trusted World. Most found the clothes sorting as enlightening as it was impactful.

Yara Hussein says, “There isn’t wasted material, there isn’t wasted resources, everything is giving value-added results at the end, and that’s what I think is beautiful.”

Kimberly Lloyd envisions who might receive the clothing she’s sorting, saying, “I can’t imagine, when they open up their bags, number one, there are no stains on them. All the buttons are there; it’s appropriate clothing for them. I can’t imagine how they must feel to be able to have clothing.”

Shoranda Green likes the methodology as much as the end result of sorting. “What I love about Trusted World. They take the time and effort to give quality donations. That’s what wants me to keep being able to be a volunteer here and to see them more in the community, and makes me want to be able to do more.”

Yara Hussein sees the enormous potential of the process saying, “I really can tell it can impact significantly larger groups and significantly larger geographic areas.” Green agrees, saying, “Trusted World definitely should be global by now. I’m surprised it’s still just local after eight years.”

                                                                                     Make a Difference

If you’d like to experience what women of the Garland Chamber did, you can go to TrustedWorld.org and click on volunteer experiences and sign up. If you’d like to help make a difference another way, you can go to the same website, and under the ways to give link, you can click on the Amazon Wish List to find food and clothing items the Network needs.

For clothing donations, one of our key sponsors, the Credit Union of Texas, has donation dropoff bins in every one of their North Texas branches. You’ll find a complete list of dropoff bin locations on the Trusted World website. Next to the bin is a banner with a QR code if you want to donate money.
