June ’23 Impact in North Texas
Thanks to many volunteers, sponsors, and donors, Trusted World provided resources valued at more than 144 thousand dollars in June, helping more than 14 hundred of our neighbors.
Year-to-date impact numbers show Trusted World turned donations into quality resources valuing 800 thousand dollars, helping nearly 8 thousand North Texans.
Capital Campaign for TW World Headquarters
Trusted World’s Board unanimously approved Mckinney-based Mission Advancement to head up the fund-raising campaign to build Trusted World’s World Headquarters in Garland. “The expansion and growth are an exciting time to be a part of the Trusted World family; here’s what’s happening because of your support,” says Trusted World Founder and CEO Michael Garrett. Mckinney-based Mission Advancement, he says, will head up the fund-raising campaign to build Trusted World’s World Headquarters on land donated by the City of Garland. “The beautiful part of working with them is they actually worked with some of our partners. The organization came back with flying colors.”
Mission Advancement will initially conduct planning and feasibility studies to determine “What’s the potential of us raising the 15 or 20 million dollars we are going to need to build our world headquarters in Garland.” Michael says Mission Advancement will help formulate a strategic plan to raise enough money for Trusted World to build a 120,000-square-foot facility.
The current 23-thousand-square-foot warehouse is at capacity. The new facility, Michael says, will serve as a mega-regional hub and provide administrative offices with an eye toward expansion. “We’re in seven counties now. We have the potential of going to eleven counties, even extending ourselves, possibly into Louisiana. We’re also looking into going into East Texas. That same headquarters is also going to be servicing that too.”
Logistically, Michael says, the headquarters location in Garland is ideal,” The center of the United States, and that’s a great place to be when you’re trying to manage both coasts.”
And the new facility itself, he says, is an investment and an opportunity to make a real and significant difference in the world. “We’re going to be bringing employment into the Garland area. We’re going to be bringing resources into the area. The stores that provide clothing that maybe goes out of style it’s still good clothing. Now we’re going to be an outlet for that. There are people who are on the East and West Coast talking to us about becoming a distribution point for them in the donation process, and that will help us expand even better.”
Michael hopes to see the capital campaign kickoff in October. We’ll keep you posted.
Network Partner Input
In an email, a Trusted World Network partner from TheSeinorSource, Clair, says, “Visiting Trusted World for the first time nearly brought tears to my eyes. …the staff and volunteers have so much passion for the mission, but also… the diligence in the process and dignity… provided.”
Another network partner client who received Trusted World Resources– Mary O., writes, “Lip Gloss for Love assisted me while I was unemployed, and it was truly a blessing not only helped me not to lose faith and remain hopeful, but I eventually was able to get on my two feet again,
Thank you.”
