While volunteers can come in and immediately begin making a difference, Trusted World does not work directly with the public and has created videos explaining how partners access resources and services. Here’s a preview of the script highlighting how Trusted World collaborates with police and crime victims.
>>Advocate: “Are you going to need any assistance with any items, clothing, food, or anything?”>>
>>Client: “I could really use a little clothing and a little food to get me by for a little bit.”>>
>>Advocate: “Okay, we can definitely do that. We put in that clothing and food order. I know that you had mentioned that you needed somewhere to stay.”>>
>>Client: “Yea, I don’t know if you have connections or any kind of resources where I can find a place to stay, at least temporarily.”>>
>>Advocate: “Trusted World, they actually have a directory where we can get community resources. Okay, it looks like we have information for a shelter, so we can get their contact information for you; it looks like they are going to be about eight miles away.”>>
This promo showcases how partners access the Trusted World Partner Portal, order resources, and look at the new online directory, where you can find services from nearly all 800 Trusted World partners.
Trusted World does not work directly with those on the receiving end, but they work hard behind the scenes helping their partners meet clients’ needs. After all, it’s all about helping people help people.
Make a Difference
If you’d like to help make a difference, go to TrustedWorld.org, click on volunteer experiences, and sign up. If you’d like to explore other ways to help, you can go to the same website, and under the ways to give link, click on needs to find the items the Network most needs. For clothing donations, one of our key sponsors, the Credit Union of Texas, has donation dropoff bins in every one of their North Texas branches. Next to the bin is a banner with a QR code if you want to donate money.
You’ll find a complete list of dropoff bin locations on the Trusted World website.
And at the end of the day, please continue to help people, help people.
