Power of Partnership
“This is for families who are impacted by domestic and intimate partner violence,” says Rosalind Rayford as she looks over a substantial delivery of Trusted World resources.
Rayford, the Executive Director of LipGloss for Love, says since joining the Trusted World Network, she’s been able to help many more people at no additional cost and increase the number of case managers to twelve, thanks to an internship program. “The partnership with Trusted World has empowered me and LipGloss for Love to give an immediate yes to every family we serve!”
Rayford says, “This is the largest impact our organization has ever made in South Dallas… we’re at a 90% increase of families that we can, that we do serve.”
The partnership, Rayford says, empowers the organization to be more effective and efficient. Besides providing quality size-specific clothing, food, and toiletries, she says, her case managers also use the Network’s Trusted Directory. It details hundreds of other network partner services such as housing, childcare, mental health, and additional assistance. “The Trusted World Directory is a jewel because we don’t try to do it all. We do what our mission says, and then we refer to other organizations that do their mission. We don’t try to be a one-stop shop because we are just not equipped to do it all,” says Rayford.
She says LipGloss For Love Case Managers love having the ability to help people and are dedicated and passionate about doing it.
Sophia Gyles, a LGFL case manager-intern, says, “Oh my gosh, what an impact this is making on those families that are needing this clothing. There are a lot of single parents in the community, a lot of families who are in need, and it’s wonderful to be able to give back, give back with love and empathy.”
The Trusted World Network empowers nonprofits, schools, and police departments of all sizes with technology, quality, and reliable resources, making them more efficient, effective, and impactful to their communities.
Trusted World employee Patrice Vivian offers a unique perspective, as she’s also a North Texas American Red Cross volunteer case manager.
“As long as I can remember, I have been in a position to serve,” says Vivian. She says helping people makes her happy. She’s been an ARC volunteer case manager for the last six years. She says the ARC – Trusted World partnership removed many of the stresses of case management and the uncertainty of getting timely and quality resources, “Trusted World has just made it a full circle.”
Last year, the Red Cross honored Vivian with its Disaster Recovery Award. Many of the people she’s helped, she says, were North Texas fire victims.
Since they lost everything, she says, case management covered everything from clothing to food, shelter, and more. She says the Trusted World Partner Portal made it possible to quickly and efficiently meet most of their needs. She says, “It made us complete because with the resources right there. Here’s the portal; you can go here; you can go there. It put everything at my fingertips. We didn’t have to scrounge around and go out there and look. Anything I think I need to help a client, I can get it there at the portal; very few that I can’t.”
Helping people recover from disasters, Vivian says, is rewarding. She described the reactions of a little boy and his mother after receiving Trusted World items, “He said his mother was so happy she had never had a pair of slippers. The little ones, they were just happy to have shirts with some kind of writing on them. You know “look at my shirt. You see my shirt? I thank you, I thank you!” It made me feel really good. I cry sometimes.”
She has worked at Trusted World since August and says, “Since I came here, I feel like a family.”
Vivian says working at Trusted World and volunteering at the Red Cross makes for a perfect and fulfilling fit, “It’s like a marriage that’s blossomed into this beautiful flower where we help people, help people.”
A recent email from Trusted World Network partner ‘Rescue Her’ further echoes the power of the Trusted World Partner Portal.
Clara P. says, “I love using the portal and having such ease to getting the items we need!” and says it’s “…so much easier! Thank you!!”
“Rescue Her”‘s mission is to empower survivors of sex trafficking to live in freedom. It has a crisis response team and an empowerment program to help victims.
